Color Pencil Holder

The other day I headed out to do some errands. I happen to stop by Michaels. I stopped by their sale bin and saw a batch of color pencils for $2!

 

 

 I picked them along with some stencils they were getting rid of for $2.75. I then decided where am I going to put them in. And, I came up with this.

I found this old Christmas box.
 



found brown paper; I might fix this. But, for now it works.



I did the best I could. Never been a great at wrapping things.

I then decided to use toliet paper rolls.
They are yucky now....



......turned it into this.

And formed this... I have still a few more set of
pencils I need to add. Just have to start comning the
house for some rolls.

 

 

Let's Snack!

One day my friend and I were out having lunch And were talking about recipes, etc. She told me about this

one recipe that she made. It sounded good; so I came and decided to make it. I knew this was something my husband and son would enjoy. Let the kids help, too. 

Let's begin:

You can use ANY flavor of Jello pudding that you want.
I happened to use 2% because I can't tolerate whole milk. ( Don't mind the
fruit bowl)

In the bowl we go!

Instead, of using 2 cups of milk. Use 1 cup of Cool Whip......

....and 1 cup of Milk

Stir until you get a thick consistency. 

It's so lonely.

And, here is the pudding sandwich.

I used Saran Wrap only because when I slip it into the Ziploc bag.
I can use the bag for future use. And, I'm thrifty.

I overstuffed mine with the pudding. 

After all the pudding sandwiches are done; Put in Ziploc bag;and  put it in the freezer.
I left mine there for about an hour.  You can vary your freezer time.

Uniform Shadowbox.

 One night my husband was watching TV with me. I say that because he is always doing something else. I happened to turn on Man Caves which appears on the DIY Network. They showed a USMC uniform in a shadowbox. I turned to my husband and said "That is what you need to do for your uniform" He agreed. So, we got to work later that week. He did most of the project and he really enjoyed it. Here is what he did. (We didn't take a lot of pictures, because we never knew I was going to post them).

WOOD

• POPLAR TRIM

HARDWARE:

• PIANO HINGE
• CLASP ( The kind you would use for a treasure chest box)

MISC:

•  1 SHEET OF PLEXIGLAS- CUT PLEXIGLAS TO CORRECT SIZE AS YOU’RE BUILDING THE TOP.
•  1 FOAM BOARD (Lowes)
•  1 ROLL OF CORK (JoAnns)
•  1 ½ YARD OF FELT (Royal Blue).WE OVER ESTIMATED.
•  SMALL SCREWS
•  WOOD GLUE
•  RUSTPROOF PINS
•  DRILL/HAMMER

DIRECTIONS

MEASURING UNIFORM

• MEASURED FOR THE SIDE 3-4” (OVER).
• FOR THE TOP/ BOTTOM MEASURE 2-3” (OVER).
• FOR THE BOTTOM BOX: CUT 4 PIECES OF THE POPLAR WOOD. LAY TRIM ON ITS SIDE AND MAKE 45 DEGREE ANGLE CUTS AT THE CORNERS. GLUE & SCREW THE SIDES TOGETHER AT THE CORNERS. LET IT SIT TIL THE GLUE DRIES.
• FOR THE TOP OF THE BOX: CUT 4 PIECES OF THE POPLAR WOOD AND MAKE 45 DEGREE ANGLE CUTS AT THE CORNERS. CUT A GROOVE INTO THE WOOD FOR THE PLEXIGLAS. AS YOU ASSEMBLE THE 4 SIDES DON’T FORGET TO INSERT THE PLEXIGLAS. GLUE & SCREW THE SIDES TOGETHER AT THE CORNERS. USE “L” SHAPED BRACKETS TO GIVE IT MORE STABILITY USE THEM IN THE CORNERS.
• BACK OF THE BOX: MEASURE PLYWOOD TO FIT. NAIL IT.

PUTTING IT TOGETHER

•  ATTACH THE TOP BOX TO THE BOTTOM BOX USING THE PIANO HINGE.
• CUT FOAMBOARD TO SIZE; ATTACH IT INTO THE BOX BY HOT GLUE.
• CUT CORKBOARD TO SIZE; ATTACH IT TO THE FOAMBOARD BY HOT GLUE.
• CUT FELT TO SIZE; ATTACH IT TO THE CORK BY HOT GLUE
• LAY OUT THE UNIFORM TO YOUR SPECIFICATIONS. USING THE RUSTPROOF PINS ATTACH THE UNIFORM TO THE FELT. ADJUST IF YOU NEED TO.
• PUT CLASPS ON THE SIDE OF THE BOX WHEN YOU’RE FINISHED

Faux Pas Pottery Barn Wall Hanging

My husband and I tore up two pallets. 

We then weeded out the heavy ones and kept the smaller and lighter boards. 

We measured and marked the wall.  

Measured 24x24 on each side.

We used Oak board for the backside

24x24. Side note: I ended up lightly spray

painting the board with whatever I found

in my husband's garage. It was a marble

spray paint. 

After the cutting and measuring, we ended up with this.

Measured the pallet boards to the Oak board to make

a border.We used Gorilla Glue thru

the entire process.

Once the glue was settled; I got some wine corks (36) and made a square for the middle.

We marked where we wanted the wine corks to sit (in the center)

Bought some spray paint from Lowes and proceeded to

spray paint each pallet board.

Painted and glued the wine corks. I used

a glue gun.

We then took the rest of the pallets boards, and started cutting them down to size;

 to make the different shapes. I then proceeded to paint them. I had most of the paint colors. 

I then bought some more at JoAnns and Michaels.

 It was getting harder to cut small ones. After ALL this, we bought a scroll saw.

I suggest use a scroll saw to cut the small blocks.

My husband attached a picture hanger to the

back of each hanging.

We screwed in two small Diamond Eye (Brass)
 and used picture frame wire

Hanging Hats Using Wine Corks.

I wanted to do something with my wine corks, that were laying around my craft room.

 

 

 I had to figure out where I wanted my son's hat to be placed. So, I had my husband nail the wine corks by his door.

 

I think they look great. I was so tired of them hiding inside his closet.
